PUBLISHER: 4J STUDIOS
PLATFORM: PLAYSTATION 4

Manic Mechanics takes place in Octane Isle, the home of the best mechanics in the world. You will first head to Tourist Information, where you will be taught the gameplay mechanics and basic controls. You will learn how to move and dash, how to inflate wheels, repair engines, paint doors, and also how to mop the spilt paint, so you do not slip and fall on it. After completing the tutorial, you will score your first job at Betty’s Scrapyard, where you will need to present your auto-mechanic skills and help Betty around. After becoming an apprentice, you will start working on spoilers, too, which need a fresh coat of paint as well. You are going to have to be on the lookout for premium parts, which are already fixed and are worth more points when they are attached on a car. For every job that you will complete, you will be awarded with cogs (much like stars), and you can earn three cogs the most. When you will earn enough cogs, you will be experienced enough to work in other parts of the town. Oh, and you are on a timer when fixing cars, and the session will stop once it reaches zero seconds.

The game can be played solo as well, but it is probably most fun playing in couch multiplayer mode with a friend, two friends, or even three friends, if your couch is big enough. Otherwise make them sit on the floor, who cares. There are plenty of characters available that you can choose from, and many more that can be unlocked by completing various objectives. They just look different, but they all have the same abilities, which are basically your abilities of how good you are with fixing cars and beating the clock you are up against to achieve the highest score. The gameplay is pretty simple and straightforward, but it can get chaotic and hectic as you will progress through the campaign, and will have to fix more than one car at once. As far as accessibility options go, you can scale the game user interface, text size, and even turn on a station assist, which will auto play the Station Minigames. In my opinion, that sucks out the fun out of Manic Mechanics, but hey – even your dog will be able to play it that way! There are also two controller layouts available, so you can choose the one that suits your play style more.

There are six neighbourhoods to explore, plenty of vehicles to repair, and a few dozen of unique garage levels to visit. The game gets progressively more challenging as you will be beating the Master Mechanics, but it does not stop with that. Try beating your previous high scores by mastering the game! Coordination will play a crucial role in Manic Mechanics, and the more you will play it, the more skilled you will get.
