Mining Mechs is a… mining game, developed by Delayed Victory. It was first released via Steam on the 27th of October 2023, and has recently become available for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles – on the 4th of September 2024, to be exact. The game was self-published on Steam, and by eastasiasoft for the Sony’s entertainment systems. In Mining Mechs, you commandeer a high-tech mining mech, on your journey to finding valuable resources while exploring a vast underground. Upgrading your mech makes bringing in larger hauls possible, and you now you can never have enough goodies! The game is playable in a single-player mode, and an online cooperative multiplayer.

You have been called for help as strange noises and weird activities started happening in the underground. Your job is to control a mech, dig into the earth, and salvage resources that you can later sell to earn yourself some moneys! With the earned money, you are able to upgrade your current mech, or buy a completely new mech and take it on your missions underground. Every of the available mechs has its own features, and some will grant you to explore even further down below. But beware! The deeper you go, the harder it will get, and I totally do not mean that in a sexual way. Anyway, there are secrets to be found in the underground, and they will bring you plenty of challenges on your way to becoming a mining legend!
Sadly, the game is not as deep as much as you can get deep in the game itself. There will be a lot of grinding to be done before completing the game, otherwise it does not offer anything very spectacular. It can be completed in a single, a bit longer sitting, if you do not mind spending a few hours staring at your screen. There is a different story, if you will be eager to fully complete it, achieving all of the trophies that are available to snatch through your playthrough(s). There are sixty-nine, again – nothing sexual, trophies available to collect, and they range from reaching various depths, unlocking various mechs, and collecting various resources and/or even trash.
Mining Mechs is definitely not a bad game, and you can have plenty of hours of fun by playing it, but it does not offer anything overwhelming. There is also going to be a lot of grinding present, if you will want to unlock your new and shiny Platinum trophy, but the feeling of it popping up is going to be spectacular. Or will it?
Mining Mechs was provided by eastasiasoft.
