RPM – Road Punk Mayhem is an explosive bullet hell action game that was developed by Panda Indie Studio. It was published by eastasiasoft and it got released on the 17th of July 2024. The game is available for PC via Steam, and on Sony’s consoles PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.

In RPM – Road Punk Mayhem balds rule the world, so you go back in time to save the day… and everyone’s hair. It is a shoot ‘em up game, where you use the directional buttons to move around and hold the fire button to shoot. As simple as that. Instead of bombs, you can teleport inside the ring surrounding your car. But anyway, you can still bomb, if you want to. The highscore multiplier goes up by killing enemies, and is locked during boss fights. You are able to choose between three playable characters – Forma, Cacio and Gorgonzola, which is the cheese I like the least. Each character has unique stats, or it at least looks like that. Once you start the game, chaos unravels in this bullet hell post-apocalyptic game, which does not spare with the bullets that are propelled into you. To be successful at it, you are going to need quick reflexes and plan your next move, otherwise you will fail badly. There are five stages of enemies you will need to get through and five bosses you will need to beat – Aldo, Baldo, Rotaldo, Siumaldo, and Finaldo. That is all there is to it. And a few more words for the trophy hunters – you will have to kill one thousand enemies in total, collect 2,500 score tokens, reach a score of at least 250,000 points, and beat all five bosses to achieve the shiny Platinum.
RPM – Road Punk Mayhem looks very good, but has too many bullets that come from the enemies, at least in my opinion. The gameplay is very hectic and that makes the game less enjoyable than it seems at the first glance. It is pretty cheap, though, so buy it when you are a huge bullet hell fan.
