The future will be written today. Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance, a licensed Skydance real-time strategy game, has launched today on Steam. Publisher Slitherine invites players to join the fight for humanity’s survival, pitting man against a terrifying synthetic machine network.
War unleashed
Set in the Terminator: Dark Fate cinematic universe, Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance unleashes a war of survival featuring complex tactical battles across a riveting single-player multiple-choice campaign and online multiplayer battles. Three distinct factions – Founders, Resistance, and Legion – await the player’s command in the gritty real-time strategy game. A player’s decision will resonate in a myriad of ways as they must decide between gaining intel, volunteers, or potential open conflict with other human survivors.
Future War
Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance offers a gamut of strategy and tactical options, including branching dialogue, events, and mission objectives, as well as a strategic army management screen where players can upgrade character skills, weapons, and vehicles, plus unit customization.
Future War will be featured in full, from plasma cannons, drones, guerilla warfare, and the careful husbanding of limited resources and weapons. Dynamic physics-based battlefields and realistic damage models further enhance the real-time tactical feel of Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance.
A New Way of Fighting
Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance ships with four skirmish modes, including Assault mode, which see players choose the Founders or Legion factions and either attack or defend an Underground base, and Domination mode, which allows all factions to be played with different reinforcement and gameplay rules. Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance includes four playable maps in multiplayer mode, allowing up to players to duel it out in 1vs1 and 2vs2 games.
