Boulder-fleeing publisher Devolver Digital and idol-grabbing developer Team WIBY are proud to announce that Phantom Abyss has left Early Access and hit 1.0.
Available now on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Game Pass, this asynchronous multiplayer game tasks you with delving into ancient, labyrinthine tombs to find the treasures hidden within. But with deadly traps, bottomless pits, aggressive guardians, and giant spikes (so many spikes) to contend with, this is easier said than done.
But don’t worry: you have help. Study the phantoms around you—echoes of real players’ joyous triumphs and crushing failures—and use this knowledge to your advantage. If you find the ultimate treasure in a temple, no one can attempt that level ever again.
From its humble beginnings in Early Access, first appearing on Steam in 2021, Phantom Abyss has undergone a dramatic transformation—culminating in the long-awaited, massively improved, and greatly expanded launch of the 1.0 version of the game.
So what’s new in 1.0?
Well, gone is the singular temple, replaced by a thrilling trilogy of modes:
- Adventure Mode: Embark on curated journeys through hand-crafted temples, each featuring a unique whip, relic, and set of challenges.
- Abyss Mode: Face the ultimate test in the classic, ever-changing, procedurally-generated temple. Only one explorer can claim its hidden glory.
- Daily Mode: Hone your skills with fresh twists on familiar trials, served up each day for a new taste of adventure.
